Member of the team at the Human and Social Studies Foundation – Sofia (HSSF) with a focus on discourse, media and text analysis. He has worked on reports about the development of populist and propaganda speech in Bulgaria and Macedonia. His most recent work focuses on the development of new populist terms in Macedonian media discourse, their rise in popularity, and the establishment of new (or the re-establishment of old) public enemies.

National populism in North Macedonia is kept in check by the European consensus. Macedonism runs deep, however, and has the potential to erupt. The resumption of the EU accession process is likely to ensure that, unlike its neighbour Bulgaria, North Macedonia stays on a democratic course.
