Marietje Schaake

is International policy director of Stanford University’s Cyber Policy Center and international policy fellow at the University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (starting November 1). She also serves as President of the CyberPeace Institute.
Between 2009 and 2019, Member of the European Parliament for the Dutch liberal party Democrats 66, where she focused on trade, foreign affairs and technology policy. She is affiliated with a number of non-profits including the European Council on Foreign Relations and the Observer Research Foundation in India. She writes a bi-weekly column for the Dutch newspaper NRC.
